Manitoba commercial pesticide container recycling program public consultation is currently underway - Have Your Voice Heard

Empty Commercial Pesticide Container Stewardship

In December, 2008, the government of Manitoba issued regulation requiring extended producer responsibility for packaging and printed paper.  The regulation requires all manufacturers or first importers of packaging and printed paper to submit a plan to the Minister of Conservation for a stewardship program to manage any packaging or printed paper they produce.

CleanFARMS™ is established as an industry stewardship organization that is already operating in Manitoba to collect empty commercial pesticide containers.  It has submitted an Industry Stewardship Plan to the Ministry of Conservation in Manitoba to address requirements under the regulations. The consultation period ends on July 9, 2010. Please send your comments on the Industry Stewardship Plan
